Getting into an elite MBA program.

AdComs understand your story the way a child understands a hero's story.

We learn through archetypes and stories. If you can't tell a story, you are at a significant disadvantage. Think back to your favourite characters throughout different books or movies. None of them were boring, and none of them were still. They all progressed, and you were brought along for the journey.

The same must be true for your application. When Harry goes to find the Horcruxes, we're given an understanding of how his whole life up until this point made sense. How Voldemort had been defeated by his mother's love. How his courage led to success in quidditch and now in this journey. How Dumbledore, his influential mentor had plotted this out the whole time. It all made sense (except for the time travel - but we can forgive J.K. Rowling for that). Imagine instead if Rowling had said, actually Harry Potter did a summer camp where he built houses for refugees. It wouldn't make sense (sub in orphans for refugees and you might have an application good to go in Harry's case).

So before you get started. Sit back, think about your life. It is introspection time.
